Before you collect ballots
- Check library or bookstore availability and agree on a length range.
- Write titles with author names so adaptations and similarly named books stay distinct.
- Ask members for up to three choices, in order, and agree on a deadline.
A question you can copy
Which book would you most like to read next? Choose up to three different books in order.
Make the entries unambiguous
Use subtitle fields for authors. If two entries have the same title, ballots can use the full title and author separated by ‘ · ’ so the importer can identify them.
Count and explain the result
A book with broad support can score well even without the most first choices. Show both points and picks, then check availability again before announcing the selection. If two books tie, agree in advance whether to hold a final discussion or a new ballot.
This starter awards 3 points to the first choice, 2 to the second and 1 to the third. A shorter ballot keeps the same scale. Tied entries share a rank. Zero-point entries remain unranked.
Keep a reusable copy
After counting, export the results CSV and download a board backup. The CSV includes your scoring rule and ballot count. The backup keeps entries and ballots together for restoring on another device. Clearing browser data removes locally saved boards.
